Hammers respond to Quatar buying Gold shares report

|

West Ham are expecting no bids from Qatar for any of the shares which Vanessa Gold is planning to put up for sale.

We believe around eight per cent will go up and there has been an immediate response from The Times claiming that Sheikh Jassim maybe ready to snap them up.

Two of the newspaper’s journalists made the claim that Jassim could be interested following the withdrawal of his bid for Manchester United.

The Times report claims that  West Ham insiders have told them they believe ‘the opportunity may attract an offer from Qatar after Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani’s failed bid to buy the Old Trafford club.

We spoke to out own key source at the club following the report and there was no belief that the club would be taken over by Jassim.

Asked if the club could be overtaken we were told: “No, not at this time and I don’t think he would be interestedn in 10 per cent.”
