Hammers set to miss out on trio

|

West Ham transfer target Shane Duffy has reportedly ‘sealed’ his move to Celtic.

The Daily Record claim the Hoops are set to announce the signing of the Irishman after he agreed terms on a season-long loan deal.

The 28-year-old will link up with former Hammer Albian Ajeti men after he returns from international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

Another report suggests another reported Transfetr target Matty Cash is set to sign a contract with Aston Villa from Nottingham in a deal worth up to £15m according to the Independent.

And yet another name frequently linked with West Ham is Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser who appears to be on verge of joining Newcastle United after agreeing on personal terms according to the Mag.

The 26-year-old free agent was demanding £100,000 per week despite earning just £27,000 per week for the Cherrys, he allegedly turned down a £55,000 per week offer from Crystal Palace. Fraser refused to play for Bournemouth when the season restarted as he wanted to protect himself before looking for a new club and did not want to risk picking up an injury.

    We are a joke

17 of our 20 rivals have added to their squad this summer

We have not and can’t even sign a Brighton reserve

    Next level ladies and gentleman

Isn’t it strange how covid seems to have affected ted our finances more than everyone else’s?

I find it really both quite bizarre and extremely concerning after the season that we have just had just how much the owners are prepared to play Russian roulette with the club. They have delivered on none of their promises, none whatsoever, they may have supported previous managers but they definitely arent supporting Moyes. Not looking for marquee signings but improvement on areas we are struggling with. You run a PL league like they are and only one thing will happen, it won’t be PL for much longer. Constant investment is required, so now watch them sell Rice at the last minute (God forbid) with no chance of getting in a suitable replacement and pocketing the money instead. How can we be the 17th richest club in world football. Put up GSB or move on.

Fans need to understand the difference between speculation and fact. Hype is drummed up when fans see that we are ‘in’ for this player or that player and then disappointment reigns supreme when he ends up elsewhere.

I feel the ITK’s don’t help when it comes to transfer speculation. Telling the fan base that the manager wants Eze, for example, leads to fans becoming more furious with the board when he signs for another team, creating more toxicity within the club. I really feel this particular situation needs to be addressed to stop the constant negativity within our club. We’re all aware what areas of the team need strengthening but the constant ‘news’ from these ‘In-The-Knows’, amongst others, of who may or may not be incoming, leads to hysteria from fans who can’t cope with the reality that until a player signs he doesn’t play for West Ham.

I keep hearing that we haven’t signed anyone and yet Soucek, who seems like one of our best signings for years, was only permanently signed at the end of the season. That’s around £13m or more of outlay. The board, therefore, have spent some money. And, I’m sure most fans would agree, that’s money well spent.

Not just hype,,the players in question and the ones over the last few days are going …

    • GaryD says:

Agree Saul. The owners provided Pellegrini with buckets of money and had an awful return on their investment. Fill a few weak spots, preferentially using academy graduates, and build slowly. Spend wisely.
Anyone who refused to play on a relegation-risk squad in order to be a better target is undesirable.

  • The Cat says:

The Del Boys of the Premier League…….. How many managers have become the target of supporters and victims whilst operating under chairmen like these???
Transfer rumours?…….. Laughable as there isn’t any money…..at THIS club!
Next Level? The Birmingham supporters have been proved right about this lot.

  • Graham says:

Not one of those would have defiantly improved our first team. Matty Cash May have, but it’s still a may have at £15m. I appreciate we do need cover at CB, but Duffy is nothing special.
Johnson and Diangana improve us more than them three players.

  • Kevin says:

The owners ; whether Fans agree or not invested Big by employing Pelligrini and over backing him . Pelligrini didn’t know what team to field or what tactics he would use . He was an abject failure , full stop . You can’t blame the board for Pelligrini’s Short comings .
I do though blame Large section’s of the fan base for the arrival of Pelligrini in the first place.
Moyes was doing ok and with a little more pacience I feel we wouldn’t have found ourselves in the horrible position of Having to stave off relegation . Now Moyes is back and rightfully so. West Ham have some serious talent coming through and it would be wrong not to give it a good chance to prove itself . A lot of people are enjoying themselves too much by over critizing some of our present players for the benefit of thier YouTube channel’s when they should instead be encouraging them ..

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

This is great news, Duffy is average, Cash isn’t a defender and Fraser is a wide player not better than what we already have.

  • Tom Smith says:

Many of us bought into bringing in younger, up and coming players through lower leagues in tandem with our Academy players. So far nothing has happened – largely because we’re skint.
But the latest news makes my blood boil. Namely, selling Diangana to West Brom. Only a few days ago Haller was looking forward to playing alongside him.
    What happened to that?
    Pass me the cyanide…
