Hammers showed interest in Arnautovic claim!

|

Believe it or not Marko Arnautovic is being reported as having been of interest to the Hammers before joining Bologna last year!

And it raises the bizarre thought that he could remain on a Davis Moyes striker list

A report  “West Ham had called us” – Agent says Hammers moved for striker, “important clubs in Europe” want client – Sport Witness says that one of his agents, Tiziano Pasquali, says some of the biggest clubs in Europe are now chasing the Austrian striker.

Hammers scouts of course saw him during the Austria v Denmark in Monday evening along with various others in whom they may be interested including Christian Eriksen

The former Hammers striker – with the troublesome agent/brother Danijel – has been in good form the last year, with 15 goals and one assist in 34 games in all competitions for Bologna.

low raterBut the manner of his departure from the Hammers for China, and that he is now 33 years old, surely puts him out of the picture although there is no way of ever knowing precisely what is going on in David Moyes’ mind.

It’s always possible  he may believe that a one or two year contract on the cheap might be a good idea although the striker/winger has a contract at his present club until 2024 with an attached one year option

His agent Pasquali told Salernosport24, relayed by TuttoBolognaWeb.“Before we closed with Bologna, West Ham had called us, and now some of the most important clubs in Europe are asking about him.

“I wish Salernitana to get to a level where they can think about taking such a highly rated player.”

Whether West Ham are still keen remains to be seen, however, that would be a little hard to believe.
