Former West Ham sicknote Jack Wilshere has somehow found himself a new club!
The midfielder played for the Hammers between 2018 and 2020 but he only managed 19 appearances for the club in total.
He was injured and missed a total of 59 games as a Hammers player, suffering groin, calf, and ankle problems during his time in east London.
He went on to join Bournemouth in the Championship, playing 44 times for the second-tier club, but his contract expired at the end of the 2020/21 season.
He has now joined Danish club Aarhus, who are currently seventh in the Danish SuperLiga.
Wilshere had been training with old club Arsenal and The Guardian reports that there were rumours that he would sign a short-term contract with the Gunners, but he has instead made the move to Denmark.
The ex-England international insists that he is looking forward to playing for the club, having been offered a real opportunity by Aarhus.
He said: “I am at a point in my career where I need to get started again after a difficult period.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity AGF has offered me and I will do everything I can to help the team move forward. I am very much looking forward to contributing to the team.”
Who cares ?? How is this West Ham news.
Shameless wage thief.
Says a lot that he trained with Red side of N. London and not us.
We’re supposed to be a caring club. For me that includes anyone who’s ever been connected wirh us,
Good luck to him but I think the club cared for Jack Wilshere 100,000 ways a week. Think what local food banks could do with that investment. Not sure he was as generous towards the club on his departure.
Very well said Daze
Well said 60s , when players have injury prone careers it’s not a choice and maybe a little sympathy wouldn’t go amiss.
Yeah he did have a swipe at us on his departure but some of our past players have said/ are saying much worse. He never really got going for us but wasn’t given THAT many chances. Good Luck to him.
Forever injured then had a moan up when leaving. Why isn’t he at least in Championship – reputation maybe
Maybe $$$ or could be EFL too physical- what with his injury record.
