West Ham have signed promising midfielder Ossama Wassim Ashley on a one year contract now confirmed by WHUFC.com
The youngster was released by AFC Wimbledon in June this year. The midfielder has been a trialist in three recent Academy games where he impressed Weest Ham Academy coaching staff.
The 19-year-old spent last season at Billericay Town, on loan from the League One side and only penned his first professional contract last March.
Ashley joined AFC Wimbledon’s youth set-up in March 2017 after a spell in the Fulham Academy. On 5 December 2017, he made his professional debut as a substitute in a 2–0 EFL Trophy defeat at Yeovil Town. On 4 March 2019, he signed a professional contract with AFC Wimbledon after impressing playing for the under-23s.
He suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury last year but underwent surgery and has since recovered.
He is regarded as a bright prospect for the future and will join the Under 23 squad in the Premier League 2 Division 1.
