West Ham have pledged to ensure that east end grassroots club Bealonians FC are looked after IF we as a club decide to take out a long term lease on the playing fields on which they play their games,

The BBC had reported the minnows could be evicted  from the Oakfield Playing Fields in Fairlop where they have played since 2004 as a result of the Hammers putting in what was described as “a strong bid” for use of the  19 acre site.

However, the Hammers have responded quickly to the suggestion with a top source at the London Stadium making the position clear in an exclusive comment to Claret and Hugh.

We were told: If we do anything the council will relocate them, we’d ensure they don’t lose out, BUT nothing has been decided yet. Things are just at a very early exploratory stage.

All plans in the air, but we’ve always had a policy of investing in platers above facilities, but we plan to spend more on existing facilities in next 12 months.”
