So we usually treat anything the Daily Star say with a large pinch of salt. But let’s hope our scepticism on their football knowledge is wrong this time and they are bang on the money for once.
For the good old Star would have us believe that they employed a small army of the world’s top statisticians and mathematicians to check every permutation for the remaining Premier League fixtures to calculate the final league standings after 38 games.
They have West Ham finished in an amazing forth place and qualifying for the Champions League with 23 wins, 11 draws and 4 losses. We will amass a total of 80 points this season and have a goal difference of +34.
It must be true! I read it in the Daily Star.
Chelsea will finish 11th and Liverpool 15th while Sunderland gets relegated with Sam Allardyce. Unfortunately they predict Spurs will finished in third place above us also.
Champions League here we come then 😉
⚒They also say that City won’t lose another game all season and 25 points will be enough to avoid relegation :)⚒
If we score 80 points and Tottenham are ahead of us I will eat my hat and also be gutted because I have a bet with my Tottenham supporting brother that we will finish higher in the league this season. Before the season started I thought 60 points would be a great season and indeed it would but I am hoping for more now. All this talk that we wont sign anyone in the January window is worrying because history shows it is important for team morale to bring in at least one good player during that window. Hopefully we could sign a top quality right back either on loan or permanently and maybe we can offload a couple on loan or permanently to create space on the wage bill.
Must be a spuds supporter living in dreamland who put this together. Us in fourth ……well yes, it could and we’d love it to happen but the Mickey Mousers finishing 5th from bottom…..don’t think so. Love to see lawrenson’s reaction to that one though!
So far Lawrenson has us with 4 goals scored this season with a -11 goal average in his predictions and this week to lose 0-2 to Watford
Don’t need to watch any game now we know. Haha., what rubbish, same as the rag.
