Hammers tracking Scottish kid

|

West Ham are reported to be eyeing a swoop for Aiden McGinlay, a youngster at Partick Thistle in Scotland.

The Daily Record reports that the youngster has been impressing in the youth sides and is subsequently being watched by the Hammers.

He plays primarily as a midfielder and has yet to break through as a professional but the report claims he scored twice against Livingston recently for the Under-16s.

The Premier League side are subsequently said to be planning a follow-up scouting mission that will allow them to run the rule over him more thoroughly.

Partick are attempting to carve out something of a niche in Scotland when it comes to developing young talent and it appears they have another one on their hands.

The Irons are clearly looking to bolster their youth ranks after seeing a number of players leave over the summer in search of better opportunities elsewhere.
