Hammers won’t be making striker bid

Despite Chelsea being open to selling Armando Broja, the Hammers won’t be making any bid or enquiries for the striker.

Hammers won’t be making striker bid

We have been linked with the player for several months and there was indeed an interest way  back but the Irons have now made it clear to Claret and Hugh that he is no longer on a target list.

The 22-year-old was side lined for over six months last year following a cruciate ligament injury  but made has since made a return under new boss Maurico Pochetteno in September.

However, his two goals in 17 games are insignificant and has not been able to impress sufficiently to gain a place in the team on a regular basis.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea would be willing to sell Broja on a permanent deal with the Hammers now being named as interested along with Fulham and Wolves.

His immediate future though depends  on whether Chelsea signing a  a new striker before the end of the January transfer window.

In the meantime, however, the Hammers have told us they have no interest in the player despite having made inquiries 18 months ago.

Our main source told us exclusively: “We liked him 18 months ago, but not now. Chelsea will want too much and wages will be high.”
