Hammers youngster can make his mark

|

Oxford-604905Slaven Bilic is convinced that Reece Oxford will live up to expectations in Germany this season.

The teenager has failed to appear for Borussia Monchengladbach since joining on loan but Bilic insisted the youngster is good enough to impress during his time away and then establish himself as a first-team player at the London Stadium.

Bilic said: “He needed to go somewhere to play more regularly. He is at a good club and unfortunately he is still waiting, but he is very positive and I expect him to get in their starting line-up soon and then come back and be a regular player for us.

“He needs to use this in the right way. He has got it in him to get his place and start playing regularly. Hopefully he will get that in Germany and it’ll be great (for him) to play in the Bundesliga.”

And his academy chief Terry Westley added: ” Make no mistake Reece Oxford is the real deal.”
