Here come more January names – get the rumour rater out

|

The Hammers are this morning being reported as holding an interest in Nantes forward Emiliano Sala.

The Sunday People claims that ourselves, Wolves, Everton and Palace are all in the chase for the 28 year old and that a £15 million bid could be on the cards.

The Argentine is claimed to be ready for a move despite his current contract still having two years to run.

Sala has scored 11 goals in 10 League appearances for his club this season according to WhoScored,

ClaretandHugh says: The names keep coming as one might expect at this time of the year but it’s noticeable that in many many cases, whenever a report such as this emerges, it’s usually Palace and Everton who are thrown into the mix as well. That wouldn’t be worthy of a mention were it not for the fact that Roy Hodgson’s outfit has already been linked with Michael Antonio and if this report is to be taken seriously – given his known admiration of the Hammer – then Palace have dug up around £30 million from somewhere which seems bizarre. As far as Everton are concerned they have also been linked with Marko Arnautovic, which of course won’t happen, so as a result on the rumour rating monitor we give this a very low reading.  This all makes for entertaining reading but as mentioned many times, our priorities anyway are on the left side of the back four and in midfield.
