Hughes claims Arnie was a very lucky boy

|

Mark Hughes has taken a big pop at Marko Arnautovic and claims he was lucky to avoid  real problems from the Stoke fans..

Speaking after the game at the Bet 365 stadium the Potters boss said: “He was doing all sorts by the end, and did well to get back to the dressing room safely.

And the added: “He should have risen above any criticism or abuse he had.

“This place was very, very good for him. The fans loved him here, so just to burn all your bridges after just one game I thought, you don’t need to do that.”

Arnie was booed relentlessly during the game but had the last laugh with a top performance including a goal whilst laying on the assist for Diafra Sakho’s third.

But he infuriated the agitated Potters fans by asking his new loyalties clear when showing the crossed Hammers sign very clearly  to the locals.

Never liked Hughes and am surprised he’s still there this morning… perhaps him having a pop at Marko when he came off has held his stay of execution for a least one more game. COYI
