Impressive Coventry makes his point again

|

Conor Coventry has again demonstrated that he is more than ready to take his place in the Hammers first team squad this season.

The 21 year old midfielder continued his outstanding pre-season form with a top display as the under 23s hammered Arsenal’s under 23s with a little help from Arthur Masuaku and Andriy Yarmolenkon.

Coventry was again a revelation as he bossed midfield demonstrating that with himself, Manu Lanzini and Mark Noble available the club is well covered in midfield should Declan or TomasĀ  become injured or suspended.

Clearly, unless that happens, Conor’s main opportunities will come against League and FA Cup opponents along with any seriously weaker opposition in the Europa Cup should we be drawn against such opponents.

CandH has learned that the option of sending him out on loan remains a possibility but such has been the strength of his showings so far that David Moyes is likely to keep him at the club this season.
