Several West Ham Supporter groups, the Football Supporters Association (FSA) with the club have been working together to create a new supporter-led forum which will be called the Independent West Ham United Supporters’ Committee (ISC) which replaces the Official Supporters Board (OSB) which was disbanded last year which had replaced the Supporters Advisory Board (SAB) which had been existence since 2011.
The Independent Supporters’ Committee (ISC) has been created following regular dialogue and meetings with the club and the FSA, and it’s structure and format has been created independently by several West Ham United supporters’ groups.
The ISC brings together supporter representatives from across the club’s fanbase: BAME (Lee Vehit), bondholders (Steve Applebee), Disabled Supporters (Cathy Bayford), Hammers United (Andy McConnell), Over 65s (Don Adams), Pride of Irons (Jim Dolan), West Ham United Independent Supporters’ Association (Sue Watson) and West Ham United Supporters’ Club (Paul Christmas).
West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady said: “I am delighted that we have been able to make this important step in our approach to supporter consultation, which has been developed and created independently by supporter groups working together with the club. On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to put on record my thanks to the Football Supporters’ Association, particularly Ashley Brown and all of the supporter groups and their representatives involved for their hard work, and the huge amount of commitment they have dedicated to enable us to reach this point.”
Hi. I would like to join one of these groups so I can have a good moan up but I’m not sure which one to join. I happen to be black so I could join the bame one but then I’m also gay so I was thinking pride of irons, but then I’m also a bondholder so there’s that one. I’m old so there’s any old irons and I’m disabled so there’s that one, but then as I said I do enjoy a good moan up so I could join hammers United. So as you can see I have a real dilemma. Should I just join the independent supporters association?
i respect this move from the club and the support groups
Just get on with it now COYI
Please, no. Bunch of people who think they know best? Gives them something to do I suppose. A sense of importance and a little earner on the side.
Wishing them all the best – but I hope they have no influence on the running of my team.
