Sky Sports presenter Kaveh Solhekol has suggested Liverpool could sign Hammer Issa Diop on loan in the next few days,
Speaking on the Sky Transfer Show Kaveh told viewers: “One player who could potentially be available is Issa Diop, the centre back at West Ham United, very highly rated young centre back, he was linked with lots of big clubs like Manchester United 18 months ago, Jose Mourinho is a big, big fan of his, Chelsea were watching him as well, he’s dropped down to like the fifth choice centre back at West Ham the moment because Ogbonna and Dawson playing so well, he is not playing at all so I am just wondering maybe Jürgen Klopp could pick up the phone to David Moyes or Liverpool could call up David Sullivan at West Ham and see if they could take him on loan until the end of the season because he is a centre back with a lot of potential who needs to be playing more”
Liverpool and Jürgen can save the phone call as Diop will remain very much a part of the Hammers first-team squad and won’t be going anywhere.
That’s no big deal in itself as Moyes has made it crystal clear on numerous occasions to reporters that Diop remains a very important member of his squad and that he will not be allowed to leave.
We could let them have Winston Reid for a large loan fee
I’d do a 6 month swap for Origi. Suits both clubs.
I understand having 2 reserves whilst you’re unsure of being in the Premiership next season (as we were when Dawson came in).
Now we have the points in the bag, surely Diop is better off playing, as he would with Liverpool’s congested season, Diop will be all the better for the experience to step into the Hammers team next season
And of course the Davids could take a handsome loan fee/save wages that they could pass onto Moyes for transfers in the summer
If two of our centre backs go down….. we play Fredricks and Coufal on the right as they did at the end of the Palace match….. and there’s always a guy called Rice who might know how to play at the back too, and all of that is without my favourite of give a kid a chance.
I find it irritating that ‘pundits’ just throw out that Klopp (orLampard or any top4 manager) can just pick up the phone if they feel like it and sign our players. Disrespectful and completely not true.
