Irons fans produce “best chant”

|

Hammers fansA terrace chanted produced by Hammers following the Rio Ferdinand drugs affair has been voted the wittiest of the last ten years!

According to www.kumb.com, the  Fantasy Football site Oulala, polled 1,500 supporters who put the song at the top of their personal poll over the  past ten years.

The song drew attention to Rio’s absence from the game when banned for eight months for missing a drugs test in 2004.

Sung to the tune of Duran Duran’s Rio, the song carried the lyrics : “His name is Rio and he watches from the stand.”

The runners-up spot was a Manchester United’s chant to Korean Park Ji-Sung Park.

And in third spot was the Bobby Zamora song (“That’s Amore”) – accredited to Fulham supporters despite being started by Irons fans some years back.
