Stewart Downing and Cheik Kouyate are back in the squad for tomorrow’s game against Newcastle United…but Mark Noble remains a doubt.
A well placed Hamers source made it clear a few minutes ago that Noble was still very much fifty-fifty after taking a knock at Everton last weekend which forced him lout of the action shortly after half time.
But he said: “Kouyate and Downing look certain to be involved unless we have any further problems but they are being wrapped in cotton wool.
“We had hoped that at last one of the strikers might make it but that won’t happen. Given all the problems we are just grateful to have got a couple of them back.”
Winston Reid misses the game through suspension.
“We have another important match on Tuesday evening at West Brom and the medical staff are working at full stretch.”
