Irons loanee looks to have nailed permanent deal

|

West Ham look set to net £8 million from Fiorentina for Edmilson Fernandes when the season ends and the club make the Switzerland international’s loan deal permanent.

The Hammers midfielder has been a regular in the side all season and although his form was patchy at one stage is reported to have done enough to get a move.

The 22 year old has made 32 appearances this season and now looks certain to make the permanent move into Serie A in the summer after struggling to make a serious impact for  the Hammers..

The board agreed an option with the Italians that an £8 million fee would be involved for the player after he had failed to settle into the first team at West Ham.

He made 17 appearances for tjhe club in the 2017/18 season but appears to have flourished in Italy to the point that he looks destined to continue his career there probably on a four year deal.

Eight million sound’s like a good amount for him. ID

I would prefer us to get him back. He showed promise when he was with us. Inconsistent, yes but is still very young. Anyone who was being coached by Bilic and his cronies went backwards when they were with us. Pellegrini and his team could help him fulfil his potential with us

8m a good deal for all 3 parties. I would sell him. I see a lot of press about us signing Milosevic from Fulham, it would be a terrible backward step to sign a player who is obviously not a PL player. We have to learn from our mistakes signing the likes of Fredericks who excelled in the championship but is no where near good enough for the PL. The same applies to Carney and Milosevic. These are players who have been in a team who have been relegated. We also need to learn from signing injury prone players like Carroll and Wilshere. I just cant believe we made the same mistake with Wilshere and to confound it when he is fit he is not good enough.

I never got this deal & its 8m euro isn’t it.
To me we could of used him beside Rice or with Rice in Noble in Mid. He wasn’t bad for us, he literally aged every where but CF & GK LWB LW RW RWB RB.
He was best coming off bench knowing his job to do. I think at 22yo on £20k would of rather kept him then Sanchez 32 on £70k. And even if loan no buyout he is Swiss Intl we can make more. If Piolo goes which seems likely they will buy & sell to Lyon for more.
He has been solid for Viola scoring a couple & couple assists playing as CDM in mid 3 of LM & he is tall physical has some pace & can pass. Could been groomed into Kouyate replacement who can pass.
But £7-8m we paid what £6m seems low. Then we get Medel for free who I’m ok with especially as RB CB cover but isn’t youtj & pace which is MPs first words.
Or spend £20m on Shelvey who would end up iniured for half season.
