Irons “quote/unquote” Noble and Sam

|

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce: “We have to say it was a fantastic finish from Aaron Cresswell. It was fortuitous he got in that position. He’s a full-back and carried on his run into the box. It was always going to be a 1-0.

“We get back on the winning trail going into December. Newcastle are an in-form side. It’s massive win for us.”

West Ham midfielder Mark Noble: “Newcastle came here as the form side in the league and we knew it would be a 1-0 game – thankfully it went to us.

On Hammers goalscorer Aaron Cresswell: “It is not an easy league to come into and we could see the quality he had as soon as he arrived from Ipswich in pre-season. He has been fantastic this season. We did some shooting in training yesterday and we were saying he should score a few more goals and he’s popped up with one today.”

On the Hammers’ great start: “We have exceeded our pre-season expectations but we can’t get complacent. We had not won in three and that’s why today was so important.”
