West Ham’s media department have wisely decided to delete a tweet where they decided to taking a swing at Jose Mourinho.
In fit of enthusiasm they showed a video on Twitter of what happened when the new Spurs boss visited the London Stadium – different place, different time, different club, different circumstances.
However, a 39 second repeat viewing of the 3-1 victory over Manchester United created created a massive meltdown among the Hammers fans who made it clear that such nonsense was more than tempting fate at a time when we are in absolutely no position to do so.
The tweet has since been deleted demonstrating again that the WHUFC media department are much more at ease working with the ancient written media than they are with online outlets.
To be honest had someone sat down for just five minutes and thought about it they might have realised that the usual sort of naive behaviour wasn’t going to work and wondered why no other site had bothered to do the same!
Their decision brings the words horse and bolted very mush to mind and shows a misunderstanding of fan mentality in general and digital media in particular.
A little later they posted a story from Lukasz Fabianski in which he defended Roberto which was also missing when I last looked.
This maybe because it presumably cased an unnecessary reminder of our biggest problem immediately before our biggest game of the season.
I totally agree. The media department are clueless sometimes! I admire the attempt to generate some positivity, but not in this way.
We might become everyone’s second club again in time if our PR was better, KB stopped baiting others and our twitter account ceased to exist. Probably find it’s run by one of the Sullivans…
Hugh or Sean, It’s getting harder & harder to even read anything on here. Bloody adverts keep preventing me from scrolling down, I understand that these keep the site going but plz tone it down enough so it’s readable..
It was pathetic and embarassing.
