TV emphasis on Spurs can help the Irons

|

A typical BT Sports pundit line-up

There has possibly been a reduction of the pressure on West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday.

It comes with Mourinho’s arrival at a club which he said in 2015 – after being given the boot by Chelsea – he would never manager  because he was too emotionally attached to Chelsea.

Yeah, course!

Never trust your emotions I say!

With such statements behind him he has happily been preparing his new charges for their first game against us with another away match due at Manchester United on December 4.

Ain’t life strange as far as football ironies are concerned.

All of this leads to the obvious conclusion that Saturday’s match in particular will be all about Spurs as far as the TV and media pundits are concerned.

As far as they are concerned we are just there to make up the numbers as they discuss Spurs  team selection, Mourinho’s approach, the sacking of Pochettino, and much else

It certainly takes the spotlight off us although no doubt our form will be mentioned briefly somewhere down the line.

I’m quite happy about that this time around because in other circumstances I could have seen the pre-match pressure cranked right up on our shortcomings.

Add to this the feelings of a few Spurs players after losing their most successful boss in years and our chances have maybe been marginally improved.

Maybe a few straws are being clutched at but why not? 🙂
