West Ham will be on a revenge mission against Palace this evening at the London Stadium after the events of last season.

Sebastien Haller will be hoping against hope that he can repeat the events of last term in the home match when he gave us a 54th minute lead.

Sadly Palace fought back and clinched a win with goals from a Patrick van Aanholt penalty in the 63rd and a Jordan Ayew winner three minutes from the end.

The south London club repeated the dose at Selhurst Park with the Hammers again taking the lead – this time in the 57th minute through Snoddy – before Palace hit back through via former Hammer Cheik Kouyate and  Ayew with a 90th minute effort.

I fancy a win for the Irons tonight though I’m going for 2-1. Seriously guys I really hope Haller can replicate his scoring effort from last season.

Any pro will admit that the game is 80 per cent played between the ears and a goal could give him enormous confidence.

If I was having a bet – and I rarely do on the Hammers – it would be 2-1 with our goals coming from Tomas Soucek and yes, I’m going there – Seb Haller.

I think it’ll be a score draw, Hugh, although I’m definitely not a mystic Meg when it comes to predictions. Part of me thinks we’re creating so many chances lately that we’re due a big win but Palace don’t concede many and they’ll be playing on the counter so likely we’ll nullify each other.

Hoping I’m wrong though and Seb bags the brace he needs!

Haller is getting chances now that’s the thing. He might not be taking them but at least he’s getting them. I think the team are starting to evolve around him that can create a lot of chances so surely it’s only a matter of time before he starts putting a few in the back of the net?
