Irons shuffle pack as pressure comes on Cresswell

|

arthur-masuaku-west-ham-action-shot_3785392Arthur Masuaku will make his long delayed step up into the first team at Arsenal last following the news that Aaron Cresswell is unavailable through injury.

Although injury to players is nothing to celebrate or take pleasure in, many feel that Masuaku should have been given his chance against Hull anyway.

On his two substitute appearances against Leicester and the Tigers the former Olympiakos defender has shown outstanding form and the pressure could be about to be applied to Cressie for the first time long term.

The first choice left back never seems to have recovered fully from his injury in pre-season and with Masuaku showing a real appetite to get forward it will be interesting to see how he performs over 90 minutes.

With Byram presumably at right back, surely Bilic will go for Snodgrass in front of him as Feghouli has offered very little cover.

Ginge and Fonte will presumably continue at central defence which is a worrying scenario against the highly talented and fast moving Arsenal strike force.

Noble and Antonio return and Bilic has to make up his own mind about Sakho having said earlier in the day it’s possible he could be on the bench.

Likely team: Randolph, Byram, Collins. Fonte, Masuaku; Snodgrass, Noble, Kouyate, Carroll, Antonio, Lanzini.

I wouldn’t complain if that was the team picked, based on previous results this team I think Slav will tell whatever team is picked to not expend too much energy and go all in against Swansea.

This suggested team is about the best we have available apart from Noble . We are desperate for pace and mobility , neither of which he has . Same team but with Fernandez .

  • Roman says:

Bilic’s win record at WHUFC is 38%.At Lokomotiv Moscow where he was sacked it was 40%.The bubble has truly burst imho.
