Jamie Vardy’s wage demands set to end Hammers hopes
West Ham’s hopes are of landing Jamie Vardy are likely to be scuppered by what ClaretandHugh is led to believe are some hefty wage hopes.
The strong word is that he is after between £125k and £150k a week which on a four year package could cost the Irons approaching £30 million.
Beyond blowing the club’s wage structure out of the water the Irons would be taking a huge chance on a player who at 29 years old is probably at the peak of his powers.
They may have considered a deal at around £100k a week but there is no chance of a deal being done if the £125k to £150k figure is correct, which well informed sources are claiming.
With Paris St Germain now favourites to sign Alexandre Lacazette the Irons are widening their options on the striker front although the club hasn’t given up altogether on the Frenchman.
They are still hopeful things could change but they have no chance of competing with PSG if their interest hardens up.
Forget him and move on.Don’t want Benteke either.Keep looking.

I would like a player with the pace and energy of Vardy but not Vardy himself….He is still tarnished by a racism story and whoever is the big name new striker risks being considered as disruptive to the squad
….And to think that the kit person vacancy pays less than £20k per year …..many junior players on more than that a week …..its a weird world!
That kit persons role for that amount of £ is taking the pi## big time. Under £20k with that much responsibility… yeah right good luck with that one. You will be working with teenagers who would earn that in a week. Watch all the player turn up in their Bentleys & Range Rovers and then get out off a ten year old rust bucket.
Vardy is pure electricity, he’s pure energy, I really like him. My only hesitation is about his age; he’s not old, but he’s 30 and I think he doesn’t move for less than £ 30/40 mil. I would spend that money on a younger player, Lacazette for example… But this is just my personal opinion. 😉

Didn’t read any of the comments above .. For me Vardy is a five minute wonder in a team that got really lucky with results and no major injury snags and bigger clubs failing to deliver . Liecester winning the league was a freak result . Renieri & Liecester took advantage of the Big Clubs that are over expectant . Good luck to them , but they got unbieveably lucky .
Next season will test Thier metal ; don’t expect them to finish in top ten . Fighting relegation again is most probable .

Kevin Leicester won over 38 games of a Premiership season,why not just give them some credit for what they achieved.If we had won it & other teams fans were knocking us for being lucky,no injuries,bleh,bleh,bleh you would be call them ungracious twots.

If you could get Benteke back to his Villa performances then yes for me but is he broken beyond repair?
The money he wants gets you a top striker who has scored the goals every year for 4-5 not one season,
But if I was him I would grab every penny he can and move to a bigger club where he will get more chances to score,

Vardy is a good player but hes 30 and has had one good season….i think us paying the fee and those kind of wages would be ridiculous….dont want benteke either…id like to see if we could get Bony on the cheap and with a good run of games turn him back into the force he once was with swansea….i really think he would be a real force in our team and he wouldnt cost a bomb lol
