Irons told not to wrap Carroll up in cotton wool

LeroyLeroy Rosenior has told West Ham they can’t wrap Andy Carroll up in cotton wool forever and that it’s time to let him loose.

ClaretandHugh’s chief analyst – aware of reports that Carroll had faced new scans this week following last weekend’s action – declared: “They may be being ultra careful with him…on the other hand it could be argued they are becoming over paranoid.”

Slaven Bilic revealed in his morning press conference today that the club’s record signing is today working with fitness coaches ahead of the weekend game at Sunderland and that he may  not be available for the game after his appearance as a sub against Norwich City.

Carroll-West-Ham-team-news-541122Carroll’s return seems to have been organised along the lines predicted several weeks ago when it was made clear absolutely no chances would be taken with him.

But Leroy said:  “He’s a professional footballer who is either fit to play or not. The club appear to be taking extraordinary precautions with him to make sure he is 100 per cent and guaranteed to stand up to things.

“The trouble is in this game there are no guarantees EVER! Anything can happen at any time and they may be becoming a bit paranoid.

“I’m sure Andy just wants to be allowed to be let loose. They can’t keep him wrapped up in cotton wool forever. They have to let him off the leash.”

  1. Yeah let him off the leash,he will be injured again within 5 games & we can get on with life again without him.We have done it for the best part of two years anyway,I know he still has many fans but i couldnt care less if he never played for us again.Atleast without him we would know where we stand, not always be waiting for the so called Messiah to return.

  2. Carroll has to stand on his own two feet, as they say! Slaven has to pick the best starting line up each match on merit, whatever happens it must not be about the fee we agreed to sign him, and more so the ridiculous fee we agreed to pay him,

His best place at present is on the bench as a late impact player, if needed, and if used he has to prove his worth!

  3. I find it very difficult to have much enthusiasm about Carrolls returns anymore.Too many false dawns which always end up going the same way, back to the treatment table.Sakho is my first choice anyway as it stands so Carroll wouldnt even start for me.
