Irons window story to be trusted so intriguing times ahead

|

Had the news come from anywhere else I wouldn’t have been as intrigued  as I am  this evening.

But the London Evening Standard makes a habit of getting things right and when they come out with the sort of bald statement they did today it can be trusted.

As the capital’s paper they need to get things right and rarely  make big statements unless they have been briefed.

It goes on a lot in football where certain media outlets receive a bit of privileged information without TOO much being given away.

Today their sports pages proclaimed that David Moyes intends to sign another six players following the arrival of central defender Nayef Aguerd which will of course bring the squad numbers up to the required 25.

Alphonse Areola is better than even money to be the next after which we can expect a striker, left back, winger and couple of midfielders.

Little has escaped into the media apart from Aguerd so there are some very interesting days ahead.

How good the new player is remains to be seen but finally things are on the move and the Standard’s story can almost certainly be believed.
