It will take more than a miracle to sort this out

|

angry-bilic-624x447That’s four defeats on the trot and 14 goals conceded and however much we love the manager as a bloke it has to be said: “How long can he survive?”

A personal assessment would tell me that were he to lose the next  that would have to be the end regardless of the loyalty the Davids tend to show their managers.

There has to be a cut off point regardless of how enjoyable the first season was for us all. The option MUST tonight be very firmly on their minds.

Out of Europe to a team that should have been seen off with little bother and a Premier League campaign whichis nothing less than horrific.

Today against Southampton we saw a team a West Ham team as nervous as I’ve ever seen and the second goal demonstrated it.

The fannying around we saw and the piece of nonsense from Cheik Kouyate which created the opportunity was the sort of stuff you assoicate with a team scared silly.

Like every sport, football is played between the ears and frankly there was nothing between most ofthose players who was out there today!

There wasn’t a player out there who didn’t make an error – or several – and you now wonder where on earth this club  is going

I want to hear no more of the ‘new stadium factor’ because every team that’s been here seems to think it’s mighty fine thank you very much.

There simply is no excuse for what went on out there today. It was horrible and Slave now has the toughest test of his career in the game.

Can he turn it round? I sincerely hope so but on what we’ve seen so far this season it will take something more even than a miracle.

I am on holiday and thank god by the sound of it. I am really concerned with Slav’s mindset, he is saying a lot of the right things, defending as a team going back to basics etc, but from reading the reports the players are not responding, then there is his insistence on playing players out of position and not selecting the ones when given a chance that have done well. I will leave it to those of you that watched the match to assess how each of them did and I will be at the game next Saturday in the hope of the beginning of things improving, does the season now start next week ?

This isn’t based on a few league games..our European games were poor and our only two wins domestically have been scraped 1-0s. Over the course of 11 competitive matches so far it’s been bad. Boro next week is huge.

Idon’t believe he has one game left and will have until Christmas at least. It’s difficult to describe the performance today but they looked scared. Ithought Noble was OK but zaza despiteacouple of good lay offs can’t hold the ball. We are really missing Carroll. Oxford be to play in front of the back four next week and is play Martinez up front. He should be confident. We weren’t helped by Lanzini probably having his worst 45mins for us, and frankly Payet and Antonio weren’t much better. Reid was good though. But that’s not saying much. They could really have had six.

Feels like the players are demotivated, besides without having any confidence. I don’t know what the problem is. You clearly could see Fletcher not even listening to slav’s instructions before coming on, for instance. You clearly see Ogbonna not running or following play like a good defender should. You see Kouyate in his worst patch ever. Never been this bad, including his spell at Anderlecht. Payet is invisible and looks an average player. Not only does he not defend, but now he doesn’t get through in attacking phase. Missed one (half sitter) he wouldn’t have missed last year.

Is it team selection(s) ? is it the diet ? is it a strong commanding voice that doesn’t seem to be on the pitch ? I have no idea but Slav himself looks like a sunk soul. And his assistants who were so involved last year look invisible suddenly. Where is Dicks ? Where is the one with the frizzy hais ? Not a good sign.

If the solution is going to replace the manager/coach(es), who is out there and could do better ? Can’t think of a single name.

I hate to say it but perhaps it’s time to go defensive, get a point win ugly, I haven’t seen us look motivated or ready to fight for the shirt in a single game so far. We have in most games at points looked good going forward, this has a little to do with continuity but the front 4, whether it be Lanzini, Payet, Tore, Feghouli, Antonio, Zaza, Callieri etc are not defending and doing little tracking back. Last season they all were (those that were with us). The worrying thing is that we are not seeing any improvement from game to game, 6 games in and we are lucky to have 3 points, someone needs to shake those players by the throat and put the fear of God in them to get them doing what they should be doing, when they fail they sit on the bench not get rewarded with a place on the team sheet the following week, the signs are there for another Avram Grant/ Glenn Roeder type season if the players don’t switch on quickly, it’s in no way too late for us to be a top ten team but it is time to prove they are fit to wear the shirt COYI !!!
