Mark Noble gave an entirelyhonest interview in front of the Sky cameras declaring: “It can’t get any worse.”
The captain – one of many who under-performed big time against Southampton could not have been more pessimistic after another shocking Hammers defensive display.
Pulling no punches whatsover he said: “Eleven goals in three games? It’s just laughable. It simply isn’t good enough. It started badly in pre-season and then came Europe, now this.
“Yes confidence is now a problem. We could have played until tonight and wouldn’t have scored. It just isn’t good enough.”
Asked how it could be put right, Noble said: “We have to work hard for each other. It’s no good going into little groups and blaming each other. It can’t get any worse.”
I’m not laughing, that was pathetic all round – the problem is I have no idea who they can bring in to make it better – who have we got who can be brought in to shore up a weak midfield – the troublesome right-back position was again exposed, I have no idea what Nordtvelt was up to today – Zaza was useless, an embarrassment – Payet, Antonio and Lanzini are luxury players, fine going forward but useless at defending – I’m at a loss, I’ve got no idea what Bilic can do – the big problem is that I don’t think Bilic has much of a idea either!
I saw Bilic interviewed this evening and he looked shell-shocked, depressed, and bereft of ideas – God Help Us we are in deep doo-doo!
Honest interview but very worrying. Our defence look vulnerable and our attack toothless. Something needs to change.
