Jack Wilshere injury update

|

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini explained Jack Wilshere had a small injury to his groin which kept him out of Saturday’s matchday squad.

When asked by reporters post-match the gaffer explained “Jack had a small problem in his groin. It’s not important but he was not 100 per cent. It was similar to what happened with Cresswell last week. If they are not 100 per cent I think it’s better for him not to take the risk with a muscle injury. But he will continue working with us in the next week without any problem.”

The latest set back will do nothing to restore faith in supporters minds that he is no longer a sick note.

Wilshere has missed nearly 200 days as a West Ham player so far after suffering from further ankle issues which required surgery.

He missed over 1,000 days out injured while an Arsenal player leading to his injury tag line but serious questions need to be asked why West Ham offered him a three-year contract at £100,000 per week.
