Jake Livermore incident to be investigated

|

JakeWest Ham will investigate after a home supporter was involved in a confrontation with West Bromwich Albion’s Jake Livermore at the London Stadium.

Livermore angrily confronted a West Ham supporter after words were exchanged after the midfielder was substituted in the second half.  Livermore was escorted away from the pitch by stewards. West Brom assistant manager John Carver was also involved in a confrontation with the West Ham fans immediately after. A witness to the incident told Claret and Hugh despite social media rumours no actual physical contact took place.

West Brom manager Alan Pardew suggested afterwards that Livermore must have been “provoked severely” by the West Ham fan. “The only thing I know is that I saw Jake in the crowd, which disturbed me,” Pardew said. “Obviously you don’t want to see a player in the crowd. There’s no way he’s going in the crowd, because I know him, and he’s a great lad, unless he was provoked severely. That’s all I know.”

Rumours on social media first suggested the fan said something about the death of Livermore’s son who passed away in 2014 in tragic circumstances but the witness says the fan said something about his previous drug taking and the that it used to play for Spurs.

The witness told us. “Livermore overreacted and flew at crowd which was made worse by West Brom Albion staff. Security stewards pulled out wrong fan a first but was corrected after someone reviewed the CCTV I then saw the right fan give a statement to the police after the game”

The police told Claret and Hugh ” We are not aware of any assault. If one is reported it will be fully investigated as normal”

Yes, that’s it in a nutshell. ‘I saw him with his hands round her neck, m’lud… she ended up dead but he would never have done anything like that unless he was sorely prevoked so it must be West Ham’s fault… because he did have his hands round her neck…’

Well reported Sean. Way ahead of news media who over the past hour have started breaking the ‘death of child’ taunting accusation by a Hammers fan.

My son was a pro from PL to Conference and experienced as a mixed race person racist stick and provocation on the park from fans, and sometimes opposition players. It was real, it had to be endured as despicable ****e from despicable ****es. That’s the world we live in, even of if it shouldn’t be. Being abused for a poor game was par for the course; he’d suck it up. He knew he was earning a living from entertaining fans who had paid their hard earned money. Poor performances attracted provocative and abusive remarks. Professionalism on the park is defined by accepting that as legitimate behaviour for poor performance.

When mixed race and players of colour had to additionally take sicko racist stick for playing badly – unlike white team mates – getting p’d off differently is quite understandable. No professional footballer should have to take racist abuse for having a lousy game.

If this accusation is shown to be correct and Jake Livermore was taunted over the death of his child, this is a disgusting individual behaviour. It may not be racist in intent or motive, but it is equally sicko behaviour. For this action not to become a blemish on our Club the perp, if the accusation is found to be true, has to be given a life ban with a very public and strong statement of condemnation from the Club’s hierarchy. In anticipation of the accusation proving accurate, sincerest apologies to Jake Livermore and his kin. If this is a hoax accusation and not substantiated there’s nothing lost in being a decent Hammer. COYI
