West Ham’s new £9 million star signing Manu Lanzini has signed a weekly deal worth around £40k a week with the club.
The Argentine was on a weekly wage of around £25k a week whilst on loan but his new deal carries a £40k-£45k basic plus appearance and goal bonuses.
The 23 year old has agreed a new four year deal worth around £10 million with a two year option in the club’s favour as chairman and de facto Director of Football David Sullivan develops the squad.
A well placed source told ClaretandHugh: “It was a comfortable deal to organise. The player was always keen to join and the finances were relatively straightforward. Everybody is very settled with the contract. Manu has signed a long term deal with an option.”
“It’s great to have our three big players – Payet, Kouyate and Manu settled at this stage as we can now concentrate solely on bringing in the striker we need.”
this is all very well,they are 3 great players and I am pleased they have been tied down with us but I am devastated to learn we have got rid of a future talent in the shape of Oscar Borg, surely one that in the future will come back and bite us on the bum.

FM Villa? I thought he was a rising star like Oxford. Has he not improved then or does he just want first team football? Sorry to question you but this is all news to me and I thought he was one to keep!
I read about it earlier.Apparently word is he ain’t progressed much.Westley & others think he won’t cut it so he can go.Not really kicked on since his younger days.
40 k ? He’s worth treble that IMO , as a supporter I think this deal is doomed to succeed!
Liverpool and the likes would quite easily pay treble that , make no mistake this bloke is on par with payet , IMO the contract is poor , I think the club have made a mistake that is open to attack from others , jobs on 35 k a week or there about ! This will fall apart if it isn’t put right ! Unbelievable ?
I’m surprised its only £40k – perhaps this is his starter and if all goes well by January they’ll up his contract? I hope so because if they dont, others will come a sniffin

More like a heart attack when spuds come in for him and pay him 100k a week ! The comments are about comparisons to players wages , lanzinis is way low compared to others in TY squad , who are not in the same class as him !
I’m well aware of what the comments were about.My point was the finances in football are scary.That paying a footballer 40k a week is not enough because we are worried about him being nicked.Money beyond most peoples wildest dreams.
When you compare Carroll’s wages and the demands of Song & Barcelona it seems like good business to me.I’m sure the Dave’s have got it right in regards to the contract.
This now is the Westham Way if he plays well next year and others come after him they will up his wages and I think that is great,it’s a sort of pay as you play which is good for the club and great for the player,
As long as we don’t have any more contracts with buy out clauses I will be happy,
Let’s hope we can get Nordvelt and Torre signed and pick the right Forward,
