Lanzini injury update

LanzioManu Lanzini is 50-50 to make his seasonal return at Southampton next weekend.

The Hammers Argentine playmaker has been ruled out of the Sunday opener against Manchester United after injuring his knee in pre-season.

But ClaretandHugh has learned this evening that it is not a serious problem as the scan carried out showed no issues and that once the inflammation has receded he will be ready to take his place on the field.

We were told: “It’s really irritating because it’s not a major problem at all and we are really hoping that he will be ok for the match against Saints. He’s only on mild pain killers but it would be unwise to take the chance on Sunday.”

However, there was good news for Slaven Bilic when it became clear that Winston Reid is certain to take his place  at the back for the Old Trafford game.

Slaven is expected to select his squad tomorrow and it will be interesting to see whether youngsters Declan Rice and Nathan Holland are included.

    Yes gaz I seem to have lost him jiggling😉
    Font ain’t there either and cresswell needs to do more IMO , he ain’t the same player since his injury ! I don’t fancy both of them at the moment 😎but that’s just me😁
    But I should have put them down I suppose ?I mean if input captain slow down I should have put these two in 😂😂

    If Feghouli is still here and not injured play him at 10, Eddy and Obi in central midfield, Ayew and Arnautovic out wide and little pea getting a hatrick COYI!!!

    Am I the only one sniffing something fishy here? Lanzini “injured”. Coutinho “injured”. Neither likely to play first couple of games? I’m guessing Coutinho to Barca within 7 days and Lanzini to the Mickeys shortly after.
