Lanzini returns to kick some balls

|

Hammers Manuel Lanzini published a video of himself in training importantly kicking a ball on the training pitch. The words that accompany the video say “Think, believe, dream and dare”

Lanzini suffered from a ruptured anterior knee ligament injury during in World Cup training back in June. He then underwent successful surgery at the Hospital Quirón Barcelona in Spain on his torn anterior cruciate ligaments by pioneering orthopaedic surgeon Dr Ramon Cugat.

It was initially thought he could be out for up to twelve months but he appears to be on target for a return to first team squad training early next year. FIFA has been paying Lanzini’s full wages while he has been out injured under the club protection scheme which compensates clubs for the loss of players through injury while on International duty.

The video of Lanzini running on a training ground and kicking balls will be a welcome sight for many West Ham supporters. He still has a long way to go but it is good to have good visual confirmation of his comeback.
