Lawro’s Hammers prediction

|

Mark Lawrenson has backed West Ham to win this weekend!

The BBC pundit is famously against the Hammers when it comes to making his predictions but he has actually backed the Hammers to win when they take on Leeds in the Premier League.

Of course, the Hammers also beat Leeds 2-0 in the FA Cup last weekend, to progress to the fourth round, and followed that up with another 2-0 win, beating Norwich City in midweek.

And Lawro believes that the Irons will continue their winning ways against Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Speaking to BBC Sport, he said: “West Ham have picked up again after their little slump in results and have now won four games in a row in all competitions.

“That run included their win over Leeds in the FA Cup last weekend and I am going to go for the same outcome this time.

“The Hammers are very powerful and such a difficult side to play against now with the pace they have in attack. I don’t see Leeds in any danger of the drop, but I also can’t see them keeping West Ham out.”

Lawro has backed the Irons to win 2-0 again, in a result that would keep the club firmly in the top four after climbing up there by virtue of the win over Norwich.

It is also a key game, given that two top-four rivals, Spurs and Arsenal, play each other on Sunday, so the Irons will be hoping that Lawro has got this spot on!

For once I agree with him but I think it’ll more than 2-0. S-X predicts a 2-0 win for Leeds but his other predictions are believable. Both predict Spuds to beat Gooners.
