Leroy puts Cresswell critics in their place

|

LEROY (1)I’ve noticed a few fingers being pointed in Aaron Cresswell’s direction this season and I’m not having that.

The boy held his hands up for a shocker against Bournemouth but then went off to Anfield and Manchester City and had belting games.

At the Etihad there wasn’t one of his balls from the back that didn’t find one of his own players which is brilliant and as good as any out and out defending.  He was tremendous.

But then came Tuesday evening at Leicester when he had an awful first half and got a bit of stick from various commentators, notably on BBC London I’m told.

Football being what it is, the moaners and critics will be out in force but let me say this straight away- the second season was always gonna be a lot harder than the first.

Last year he was playing on pure adrenaline going from game to game on  total high but this season since making one or two mistakes he’s thinking about things and perhaps dwelling on them a bit.

We all know he’s a top player who is getting better all the time and the problems are between his ears rather than at his feet.

It’s obvious he is a player admired by the manager and in Julian Dicks he has the ideal person to talk to should he be worried and need some advice.

Some might think after being an ever-present in the team he perhaps needs a rest but he doesn’t strike me as that sort of lad and I’m sure he will come though.

This was always going to happen just as it has done with Sanchez at Arsenal but Cressie has a good professional mentality and will come through.

He has great people around him and will be absolutely fine!

The players gave their all against City, he had a torrid time with Navas who is unbelievably fast, his adrenaline levels would probably have been drained after the high of that match, it was always a big ask to get so many of them up again for the Leicester match just 3 days later, he is a quality player as you say, if he had a rocky first half so be it, no players are perfect, he wasn’t to blame for either goal and their winner was a brilliant header no one could have done much about. COYI !

He will be just fine.He has a good guy like Dicksy to learn from when it comes to defending. It is only his second year in the premiership. He can only improve imo.Though it is always easy to critisise from the sidelines i guess.

He is good enough for me and I would not like to see him leave the club,on Tuesday he was running into his own players because we crowed out the middle,he did no wrong and his ball passing was good,
Like always the second we loose a game out come the knockers,I watched our club play better football in defeat then I have for 4 years,if it was just about winning I would not support this club I love,

      Bang on fella!
I do sometimes wonder what if, in say 5/ 10 years time and after some heavy investment, we become the new Citeh or Chelski, winning games and trophies regularly. Would we hark back to the ‘good old days’ when we didn’t know what we were gonna get from one game to the next?
It’d be fun to find out though!!

Fun just to see the Spuds faces,
But it must be boring,I have family members that are Chelski fans and 2 weeks ago they had given up on football but now the slightest interest is coming back they moan all the time they watch the game 2 weeks ago Hazard was useless Marinio needed to go,
I would love to see the Rusky pull the plug they would never follow again they for get the good days of Ozgood,Harries,Venables ect when they had passion that’s what I don’t want
It’s great having Payet,Valencia,Sakho ect but I would still be happy if we were plodding along as usual as long as Hippo is gone

I think we are already hearing the echoes of that scenario strap !!
It was inevitable that some supporters would jump on the wagon because of the results we have been getting !!!! I think it comes from the younger generation more than the old stalwarts like me and others !!!!
Everyone needs to take a step backwards and take a deep breath as this journey has only just begun .lol. just be happy with the change we see happening and enjoy it !!!!!
Survival is the key to this year and anything else will be a bonus !!! Don’t be greedy !!!
Enjoy the good bits and take it on the chin when beaten !!
It feels great to travel away from home and know you are in with a chance of winning ,
Entirely different from the last bloke who was in charge !!!!!!
Be happy people. We got our team back ,,, enjoy !!!!

  • bubs says:

Going to enjoy John all the way to the top,I don’t think it’s about survival we don’t have those worries, this team is good enough to beat the best we just need a little more time to become more adaptable, but you are right there is so much pressure for the youngsters to win they forget about enjoying it,
It takes a lot of years to sit back and watch Lanzini beat 3 players and lay the ball off or Zarate cutting through 2 or 3 passes instead of long hopeful balls for Jarvis to chase or Arroll to get a head to,
As youngster watching Redknapp and Sissons on the wing or Di Cannio and Sinclair never go away,ENTERTAINMENT,
