New Hammers signing Manuel Lanzini has started against West Bromwich Albion Under 21’s this afternoon despite coming on a late substitute in Saturday’s one nil loss against Leicester City but is back again in action 48 hours later in the Barclays Under 21 Premier League.
Hopefully the Argentinian winger is just sharpening up on his match fitness and will re-join the first team again soon. The Hammers Under 21 has a starting line up of Brown (GK), Knoyle, Hendrie, Poyet, Chambers, Burke, Samuelsen, Cullen, Lee, Lanzini, Parfitt-Williams. Subs: Onariase, Boness (GK), Mavila, J. Brown, Hector-Ingram.
West Ham youngsters lost the match 2-1 after Elliot Lee headed home from a Josh Cullen corner although Lanzini did have a lively game and hit the crossbar with one shot.
Not oxfords fault and just the way it is I suppose but must be frustrating for some of these 21s players like Samuelson and poyet who did well preseason to not get a chance in the first team when they see a 16 year old getting in the team ahead of them.
I imagine it is, specially when he was playing out of position. Poyet probably sticks pins in an effigy of him lol
