London Stadium West stand poll result revealed

|

West Ham Supporters would rename the London Stadium’s West Stand the John Lyall stand if given a free vote a poll has revealed.

With over 2,000 Claret and Hugh readers voting nearly 29% (621) said the John Lyall stand would be a fitting name for the West stand.

In second place was Sir Geoff Hurst with 24% of the vote equating to 519 fans.

West Ham captain Mark Noble was third with nearly 16% of the vote (344)

Former manager Ron Greenwood pulled in nearly 12% (255) to rank in fourth place.

Fifth place was Karren Brady 4.7% (102) followed by Paolo Di Canio 4.07% (88) and Carlton Cole 2.82% (61)

Alvin Martin received 1.2% (26) Frank Lampard Senior 0.83% (18) Martin Peters 0.6% (13) Harry Redknapp 0.46% (10)

The remaining 4.77% (103) said none of the above. Another suggestion was the rename the London Stadium West Stand the Lyall and Greenwood stand in the same manner that a corporate lounge was named that at the Boleyn Ground.

For now, the stand isn’t ours to rename as it isn’t part of the agreement, it is thought to be reserved for a sponsor as part of a future naming rights deal but these things can quickly change.
