Magnificent Irons performance – sky’s the limit

|

Hughie Southon’s match verdict

We are top of the Premier League with a performance which will never be forgotten by those who witnessed this magnificent 90 minutes.

With two quite sensational – and totally different goals from Mikey, another from Benny and a superb first from Pablo – the Hammers were as good as I can ever remember seeing them and I go back one hell of a long way.

Ok, the Foxes were down to ten men for much of the game – and deservedly so after a shocking Perez foul on Fornals – but we had been way on top from the first minute and 4-1 was more than a realistic result.

Mikey was quite magnificent and if he can – and it’s a big shout – stay fit for the game God only knows what’s possible for this magnificent team.

Leicester have won the Shield and FA Cup and were outclassed by a team where everybody wanted the ball and made it pay whenever they received it.

The pace, power, and passing of this Hammers team was brilliant and you scratch your head wondering how we have come so far so quickly.

Special words for Rice, Benrahma, Formals and Bowen who had the Foces back pedalling at speed whenever they were on the ball.

Just one word is required to sum up p this performance =- MAGNIFICENT.

I think the reason we have come so far is down to a team effort, everyone is working for each other, I actually thought the first 15 minutes we looked nervy but grew into it and then controlled the game after we got on top. Leicester outplayed City recently and now we have beaten them, relatively easily, we need to play the same way against the rest of the top six because we are good enough COYI!!!

Talking about all time performances, 8-1 against Newcastle.. Alvin Martin hitting a hatrick against 3 different keepers… one for the die hard trivia fans…..

I’m still a bit shocked by tonight, Leicester are a top half team, ok, injuries and down to 10 men, but… top of the table, ahead of maneybags Chelski and Citeh…..

one observations, Declan has started to bring the ball forwards at the defence, it seems to cause havoc !!! 😀

    Fantastic performance all round.

Great performance last night. Our first XI could give any Premiership team a good game. But the squad is under-strength to cope with the inevitable injuries and Europe. I don’t think David Moyes should be only looking at players who are supposedly better than our current first choices. We need reinforcements who are as good – not necessarily better.
