Marseille willing to bid £34m for Payet

|

payetFrench newspaper L’Equipe reports that Marseille’s new owners are willing to spend up to 40 million euros on bringing back Dimi Payet back. The story has made the front page of the French publication this morning.

Marseille’s current coach Rudi Garcia managed Payet during their time in Lille together and Marseille need a left-sided attacker.

However, an unwanted £34m bid from the Ligue 1 side would easily be rejected by the West Ham board and their stance remains their star player is not for sale.

West Ham joint chairman David Sullivan told the official website in November “Dimi signed a new long-term contract in February, pledging his future to this club, and it is very much our intention that he remains with us for years to come.”

All very well saying Payet is not for sale . Any player can be moved for the right price and if enough money is offered for him he could very easily be on his way . The money could come in handy anyway . Don’t want to see him go but , hey that’s how things are in today’s football . We are not going to qualify for Europe , so it really makes no difference actually .
