Masuaku returns as Irons win

|

Arthur Masuaku came through 90 minutes of under 23 action against Chelsea with highly impressive Harrison Ashby scoring in the last few minutes to give the Irons a 2-1 win.

Arthur’s injury worries have been continuing since last season when after returning from knee surgery he was again sidelined following an incident against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

He made only 13 appearances in total last season and is being nursed very carefully before making another comeback with his knee still a worry.

But so far he has come through a couple of under 23 excursions and my be ready for a place on the bench after the international break for the game against Southampton before we face Dynamo Zagreb in the first Euro League clash of the season ,

Ashby’s late late winner against Chelsea was the perfect result for the young Irons as they bounded back from defeat on the south coast t Brighton in their previous game.

This is great news, I’ve always been a big fan of ‘Arfur’, not a great defender but one of our most technically gifted players with really quick feet, great touch and plenty of pace and energy. If he can stay fit he’ll be like a very good new signing.
