Match of the day were quick to point out how Manuel Lanzini and Marko Arnautovic have drastically improved under David Moyes.
The in-form partnership shared just one goal between them under Slaven Bilic this season with zero assists for the pair and no goals from Arnautovic in 7 games under the Croatian’s management.
Their impressive combined tally is now 8 goals and 8 assists from 11 games under David Moyes making them one of the best partnerships in the Premier League. West Ham had the rare honour of being first in the running order on the Match of the day and Gary Lineker and Ian Wright were full of praise for the Hammers while former Hammer Frank Lampard was mostly quiet preferring to concentrate on Huddersfield’s misfortunes.
The new backroom team in entirety must take huge credit, one defeat in eight is incredibly difficult to achieve when you’re scrapping for your life in th lower echelons. Yes there have been some battling performances amongst that run, but that third goal, wth the one touch passing, third man running was a throw back to to the West Ham of old. COYI.
I saw this also, i would be curious to know in 2.5 years how many assists Lanzini had because as mentioned numerous times under Bilic I remarked that for all his quality Lanzini doesn’t produce an end product other than his goals. It is proof that Moyes and his back room staff are having an effect, hopefully we can get Antonio fit and he can be a creator also, he has been poor in that regard since he was made a wingback under Bilic. Carroll looks better also under Moyes, will be interesting to see if Byram can be improved too COYI!!!
Sean i remember you writing an article in november with the headline “west ham optimism has gone”in which you said i have yet to see a david moyes team up for a relegation fight.
How do you feel now?
I am so happy to be proved wrong!!! He has turned them around
And because of the little matter of being given a rough reception every time he played against us! Don’t forget that!
What do you expect from Frank Lampard, still sore because his dad was sacked by the Hammer, sorry bloke.
