Matchday security update from Premier League

|

The Premier League has been in consultation with its Police and Security advisors as well as the Home Office in relation to the safety and security issues at matches in light of the terrorist attacks in Paris last Friday.

A full briefing was provided to club Secretaries yesterday detailing the current threat alert, which remains unchanged, and the status of current security guidance.

Clearly there is a heightened sense of awareness that clubs and fans must be sensitive to. Each club will be liaising with its local police force to ensure that appropriate arrangements are maintained and delivered in the context of the guidance provided by national security services.

Richard Scudamore, Premier League Executive Chairman, said: “The clubs have been fully briefed in context of the current guidance from national security services and are liaising with their local police forces to ensure the appropriate security and safety measures are in place for their matches and stadiums.”
