Mikey hails ‘magic’ Hammer

|

Mikey Antonio has hailed Manuel Lanzini, insisting that the Argentine is absolutely “magic” after he scored twice in the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.

The two sides played out a ding-done five-goal thriller at Selhurst Park, with Lanzini scoring the second and third goals for the Hammers after Mikey had opened the scoring.

The second goal, Lanzini’s first, was a truly remarkable strike, as the playmaker managed to juggle the ball after it bobbled, and then smacked the effort off the underside of the crossbar and into the back of the net.

His second, the Hammers’ third, was a little more normal, as he converted from the penalty spot after a handball in the area, and Mikey was in awe of just how good the Argentine was in south London.

Speaking after the game, as per BBC Sport, he said: “They call him the jewel here, he’s magic. He is showing his quality again and we are happy we have the jewel back.”

And Mikey is looking forward to 2022 after kickstarting the year with a win on New Year’s Day.

He added: “It’s going to be better. The only way is to put more points on the board.”
