Morelos hat-trick sparks new speculation

|

Hammers-linked Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos made his presence felt in a big way as the transfer window countdown continued when grabbing a hat-trick against St Joseph’s in a Europa League qualifier.

It came on Thursday night amid speculation that the Irons are possibly set to make a bid along – ironically – with Frankfurt after losing Seb Haller to us.

Despite his bad boy reputation, the Colombian, the 22 year old is a real goal machine having now scored four in the two legged affair against St Joseph’s following his 30 in 51 games for Rangers last season.

He admits he wants Premier League football saying recently in an interview with El Tiempo ” There are a lot of people watching me from other clubs, but now I’m only thinking about Rangers and the national team, I’m focused on that,

“I’m only 22 but in five years who knows if I’ll be in a much bigger team. Hopefully, it will be in the Premier League because I have a lot of ambition, but if I have to go to another league I enjoy it.”

With his price set at around £15 million it seem unlikely that the Hammers will be involved in a move and Manuel Pellegrini admitted yesterday that he is happy with his options.

It’s a big leap from the Scottish Premier to the English but this is a player whose record suggests he is more than capable of making the jump.

The Hammers boss hasn’t entirely ruled out more transfer business but essentially gives the impression he is happy with what he has available.

With his temperament, would he be content as back-up. Pelle likes to play with one up top and that will be Haller, when fit.

His age and goal scoring record is brilliant and a number of players have come from the SPL and done very well, van Dijk being a stand out name. That said, his disciplinary record is a real worry, that many sendings off for a striker is strange and that poses questions. Maupay at Brentford is the same age and price and I think I’d be more tempted by him out of the two.

Yea if he didn’t get 5 red cards & Gerrard didn’t play him towards end either. Had he not had those Banned & finished season he woulsmof had 40+ goals 32 is impressive 17 in the league. Dembele numbers at Celtic but yes he needs Discipline but they eanr close ti what Dembel sold for. Ithink Frankfurt are more likely to get him now they are Also linked w Montpellier big man 11 goals. They recruit well. I’d take Ellyes Shkiri from Montpellier watched him for 3 seasons 24 now well rounded CDM could go to Koln for €5m tho he doesn’t prefer move there only year left that would be shrewd signing if can’t get Pulgar. And Their RB & LB cover Aguliar assists & solid defender £6-8m year left.
Defoe thinks Morelos could make it in PL. I’m a huge fan Mapauy Brentford’s recruitment is so golod & sell their top players every summer & lost mgr too but still do well they could try to make promotion if they kept Bemerhma & Mapuay w Jansson & others they could.
Got Mapaiy & Said for £4m woerh £30m plia together. Mapaiuy is fast strong clinical can get in behind & and only 22 I think they want close to £20m & w 28 goals 9 assists I can understand thinknhe would suit PL w right club. We were linked w Ligue 2 Florian Aye who remind me of Mapauy but he went to new Serie A side Brescia for cheap. All of good CFa our there I would love Pedro from Fluminense not Joao that Watford have deal with off next summer tho he is great but #9 Pedro who is few years older just turned 22 & scored 5 goals in 7 for 2019 so far in 2018 scored 10 in 19 in Serie A & in Cacairo scored 7 in 13. He is 6’1 strong quick leads the line & has llayd in front 2 a few times roo. Might be easier to get him in January when seaosn is over but of worked a deal now to get in Jan we get a great young CF & probably cost £10-15m if Joa Pedro is anthinf to go of but maybe less. Get in Jan & have another well rounded CF & cover for Xhix when goes in free. Jose Macias I like from Leon in Liga MX just 19 has done well very quick cf plays lone striker 10 in 18 last seaosn & 2 in 2 so far now lkaus for Nexaca
