Moyes admits it’s difficult to put plans in place

|

David Moyes is working to a well worn routine as he bids to lift the club out of relegation trouble and tomorrow night (Sun) his “one match at a time” formula will hope to see off Manchester United.

After defeats by Palace and Manchester City it will hopefully be third time lucky when a draw would probably be enough to ensure survival.

He told reporters: “The sooner we get the points required, the better. I don’t think there’s a better formula than just saying the next game is the most important, get it done. The focus is on Man United and then move on to what’s next.”

He admitted it was difficult to plan when not guaranteed safety adding: “It stops you from getting plans in place as much as you’d like because we’ve still got to get that win we’re talking about that would make sure we’re a Premier League club.

It holds you back a little bit from going and getting on with things and making the next part of the decisions which you have to do.

We’re hoping we would never have a season like this again. We’re hoping we can get back away from where we’ve been. European football, it allows you to blood some of the young boys.

Whereas to try to get young boys into the Premier League team at the moment is not an easy thing to do. It’s very hard because every game is worth a lot of money, or to do with relegation, or to do with European football.

Europe has helped us give our young players some minutes and chances to get closer to the first team.
