Moyes can offer no guarantees

|

marioDavid Moyes is desperate for loan signing Joao Mario to make an immediate impact but has his worries that he can hit the ground running.

Speaking about the issue he said: “My biggest concern is him getting used to the Premier League, the speed and competitiveness compared to Italy or Portugal.

“His ability as a footballer is not in question, he’s proved it, and I hope he can hit the ground running.”

Moyes is also concerned that the Hammers may not be able to recruit anymore players during the winter window.

He said: “At the moment I can’t say there is any guarantee there will be anybody else coming. It’s really difficult.

“Behind the scenes we have tried for two or three players and most of it is getting knocked back.”

And as CandH reported yesterday, there is no way the club will let go fot for players as the massive injury crisis bites into our resources.

The manager said: “We have had an offer for Ayew but at the moment, it wouldn’t be accepted because of our situation.

And the Scot also scotched also suggestions Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey was a target.

He said: “It was never talked about, never mooted. We didn’t speak to Newcastle, and Newcastle didn’t speak to us.”

What’s this now- philosophy? I thought it was a football blog. You might benefit from therapy mate….

He didn’t really struggle though 580 did he? He could chew people & score goals at the same time. Who was that US president who was bit thick & they said he couldn’t fart & walk at the same time. Gerald Ford maybe..

Have you ever had a happy day?

Nice to see Moyes carrying on this line about foreign players needing time to adapt to the speed & physicality of the the mighty PL. Aguero really struggled didn’t he. And Suarez, Silva, Hazard, Costa, Henry…….Whereas Bale has really stormed La Liga. What tosh. Most PL games now feature a big side trying to break down a bottom half team with ten or eleven camped in their own box. Most of the time it is played at snail’s pace a the ball goes from side to side. Yawn…

Anyway looks like Mario is going to be the sum total. Another blistering window then. Let’s hope Mario comes up to scratch then & they get some of the injuries sorted or we will be heading south again. Happy days.
