Moyes confirms Mario medical

|

joao-mario-inter_bov1y46wjmeg1e9zsq3rtfud1David Moyes has confirmed that Joao Mario is on his way to the club and will have his medical today.

The manager agreed that the Inter Milan midfielder will be joining the club on a loan deal until the end of the season at the pre-Wigan FA Cup fourth round tie at the weekend.

He told the assembled media pack: “”Your sources would be correct that he is having his medical as we speak. Hopefully we’re able to give you some news at the right time. It would be a loan move.”

And the manager also conformed the earlier CandH story that Andre Ayew had been the subject of interest but that given the current situation.

He explanied: “We’ve never at any time said we want anyone to go. Nothing has come up, so we’re as we are. I think we’ve had an offer for Andre Ayew, but at the moment it won’t be accepted because of our situation, so we wouldn’t be in a rush for anything to happen.

We want to keep our players, but we will have to see what happens.”

He’s confirmed the loan. But no confirmation on whether it can be made permanent In the summer or not.

Another Loan deal . So many injuries doesn’t exactly make sense . It’s all very well Tony Gale saying it was different in the day ;; that makes no sense either imo .
To say it was harder or tougher in the day is wrong . Today’s playing surface isn’t as muddy and slippery as it was back then . You could have had heavier conditions , yes , but the surface let the muscles escape the torsions experienced today on the modern surface .
Today’s surface grips the boots more and stresses muscles .
Injuries are more due to the modern game than conditions of days gone by .
Maybe a football boot design change is required more than comparing conditions .
Putting the breaks on instead of sliding is bound to hurt muscles . Training systems need changing and adapting to the new age pitches , not the attributes of players .
Anyway , apart from that , we suffer too many injuries . But it must be said that there are far too many games over the two months of December & January . It doesn’t matter how much players are paid ; the human body is after all , the human body .

Maybe they should all head down the boozer after matches like it was back in the day, alcohol might be good for keeping the muscles loose 😉

But you look at Man City who have had very few injuries yes Jesus injured nowm Agureo got injured in car wreck & even can back month or more early then ezoected.
Even Brighton who have lovely facilities & equipment.
Part of issue is we need new better equipment to deal with Injuries supposedly that is something Lewin brought up. Hopefully Davies will help.

But City play hard pressing football & have had very few injuries & when they do are back quick.

Think we need to invest in our equipment & facilities bc Injuries havent gotten betterb& Kevin talking about Modern game can cause it we need the modern equipment to prevent it. See BVB & RB Leipzig & City & even Brighton they don’t have 10 injuries at a time bc top notch facitilities

Well I reckon Tony Gale, who has been around football all his life has a fair bit of insight that maybe we don’t…….

A complete lack of a strategy for offloading as well as buying key players is truly worrying. This is no way a Club whose leadership reckons they are heading for the top should be strategising its business deals.

What a tragi-comedy: Carroll rarely fit to play and when we get a serious offer for him he gets injured. Cruel irony or what? £14millions incoming for Ayew. Excellent dosh for an overrated player and it’s rejected? Ludicrous business sense given that he was worth only half the amount we paid for him. Fonte is past it. A gross waste of £9 millions.

Offering Collins a new contract is a sentimental touch but he’s a player who is profoundly limited at his age. Blood and guts to be sure, but zero mobility and pace. One great block is cancelled out by an inability to turn, or a rush of blood to the head. What is the progress for a central defender who has a good injury/fitness record? None, of course.

So we have one midfielder on the cards, and as yet no striker and no central defender. Things are moving ever so slowly.
