Moyes considering PL striker swoop

David Moyes is weighing up a move to sign Armando Broja from Chelsea for around £25m this summer.

The Hammers are desperate to sign a striker in the upcoming transfer window but Moyes is struggling to find value in the market.

We have been told that Moyes feels he will have to pay through the nose to recruit a forward who can make an immediate impact on the starting XI.

That is why Broja appeals.

He has impressed during his time with Southampton this season, scoring nine times in all competitions, but is set to return to Chelsea.

They are stocked with forward options and have both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner on their books. They will also soon be able to negotiate deals as their takeover has been given the green light by the Premier League.

There is a feeling at West Ham, as a result, that a deal can be done for the Albania international and he would cost significantly less than other potential options this summer.

West Ham are unlikely to be the only club considering a deal for Broja, given that there will also be significant interest from Southampton.

The Saints would like to bring him back after his loan spell but it remains to be seen if Broja could be swayed by the prospect of playing in Europe with the Irons.
