David Moyes says he is not aware of any problem with between himself and Karren Brady over comments he once made to a female reporter and an article written earlier this year by the Baroness.
Asked the question at yesterday’s press conference Moyes said “It was Karren who I spoke to on the phone, it was Karren who I had meetings with, I think if you read her piece as well and I have said many times I made a mistake, I apologised for it straight away. Sometimes speaking to journalist goes the wrong way.”
He confirmed she didn’t mention the incident saying “She didn’t discuss it at all with me. It was written six months ago so I don’t think there is any need to do it now. I had two or three good conversations with Karren.”
In April this year Karren wrote in her Sun column “If it’s wrong to be a bit racist, it’s also wrong to be a bit sexist… as Sunderland boss David Moyes found out earlier this week. The football manager’s job was put on the line when he joked about slapping a female reporter after mistakenly thinking his mic was off. During the preceding interview, Sparks asked Moyes if he was under more pressure because owner Ellis Short had appeared for the first time since the start of the season. Moyes answered: “No, none at all.”
I wish Brady would slap me
Let him get on with the job stop stirring things up!
Karen Brady writes this stupid column in the Sun and is expected to comment on things that are in the news. Moyes got himself in hot water about comments he made to a female journalist, that she didn’t complain about by the way, and the Press was in his case at the time and blew it up out of all proportion – and Karen Brady was paid to stick her two-penneth about it in her column.
