Moyes drops new Bowen update

|

David Moyes has confirmed that he remains in the dark over the extent of Jarrod Bowen’s injury but he has confirmed that there is no chance he will play against Aston Villa.

The Hammers boss has made it clear that there remains some checks to do on the winger as the Irons aim to discover just how bad the injury he sustained against Liverpool is.

We reported this morning that he had been sent for a second scan but there remains an uncertainty over how bad the issue is, as Bowen continues to struggle to walk on the foot he has injured.

Bowen will not be playing against Villa this weekend and there remains a question mark over his availability for next week’s second leg against Sevilla after the 1-0 defeat on Thursday evening.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the game against Villa, Moyes said, as per Football.London“We’re just recovering and checking. I can’t give you a complete answer. We’ve come through relatively unscathed. Jarrod isn’t going to be available for the game but we hope he can make some improvement.”

Moyes also felt that the team coped without Bowen against Sevilla, but he has confirmed that we are missing his ability.

He added: “Of course, we’re missing Jarrod Bowen, but we’ve only not had him for one game, against Sevilla. Did we miss him? Yes. But I think we coped without him last night. But we could do with his goals in the next months or so.

“It’s a really difficult injury to diagnose but we hope we can get him closer to fitness.”
